Bridges - Substance Abuse feat. Aceyalone (Music Video)
Enjoy the video. Share it. Give it a thumbs up on Youtube. Connect with Substance Abuse online.
I always appreciate when artists and their teams contact me. This is from the email they sent me:
Eso Tre and Subz are L.A. duo Substance Abuse, presenting the RCKLSS
ABNDN-directed music video for the Waes One and Philm One-produced single
“Bridges”, featuring Aceyalone of Freestyle Fellowship. Former URB Next 100
picks, their 2006 album Overproof (Bandcamp) featured MF DOOM, Saafir,
P.E.A.C.E., Kool Keith, Motion Man, Kutmasta Kurt and Rasco, while 2012's
Background Music (Spotify) featured Myka Nyne, Tash of Tha Alkaholiks,
KRS-One, MC Eiht and Percee P. Aceyalone is a founding member of Freestyle
Fellowship, a collective that brought an improvisational focus to the Los
Angeles underground hip-hop scene in the 1990s. "Subz came up with the idea
for 'Bridges' because he felt we needed to do a song about unity in these
increasingly divisive times we're in," Eso says. "We couldn't think of a
better emcee than Aceyalone to bring on board, as he has a special talent
for creating dope songs built off of a single metaphor. Our goal was to
create something in the tradition of our heroes The Native Tongues, a track
that was jazzy, positive, and upbeat but with a message that the modern
audiences could relate to."

"This Is America" and The State of Creativity
by Vincent "VinnySoFresh" Esquivel
This is no way a breakdown of an amazing song and music video. I feel it would be audacious to take on a task like that. However, I got you. I will post links on breakdowns for the song and video at the end of this post. If you're into that kind of thing. I know I am. Connect with me online. I would love to discuss it.
This main thing I want to point out is the creativity and evolution of Donald Glover. That's what I mean by the state of creativity. The mental state.
When Childish Gambino came out, I was like "This is cool. The guy from Community. I like that show." He had some good songs. People didn't take him serious. I liked his vibe. I still do. He kept releasing music and videos. Going on tour. Building his fanbase.
Then, Atlanta premiered. An amazing show. The second season is so good. If you haven't seen it, watch it. You won't regret it.
A few months later Awaken My Love dropped. It slapped everyone awake. Great sound. Great lyrics. An instant classic.
Now, we have "This Is America." Simply amazing and impactful. An analysis of current American society focused within a few minutes. I love it.
I'm such a fan of artists. It really is an honor to watch artists grow and evolve.
So, how is this possible? First off, you know he has surrounded himself with some great supporters and like minded creators. Hiro Murai being one of them. He has a great cast on Atlanta that have been taking on bigger roles in films.
The main thing I'm wondering about is the environment he has created for himself to help with his creativity. What is he doing? What do great artists do to put themselves in the zone of ultimate creativity and expression?
What it comes down to is: What are you doing? Who are you surrounding yourself with? Is the environment you're in the best for your productivity?
Bonus: Break downs for Lyrics and Music Video

DRAMA - Hopes Up [Music Video]
SoundCloud: DRAMA
I'm listening to my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify while I'm gaming and chilling. Then, the track below begins to play. I'm like "Ok, this is cool." I replay it. Then, I replay it again. I start looking this track up and doing that research. Who is this? I need to know everything. Mind you, I'm still playing this song as I type this. They need more music because I need more of their music. So, if anyone from DRAMA is reading this. Or, maybe you know somebody that knows somebody that knows DRAMA. Tell them to sell their music somewhere. I'm ready to buy. "Hopes Up" is just a shot of music endorphins. Instant good feeling. Meanwhile, connect with them on Twitter and Soundcloud. Support that good music.

Kanye West - Famous #MusicVideo #WOW #NFSW [Updated]
I'm not censoring any images on here since nothing is explicitly vulgar. So, if you are easily offended, leave before you read or view any further....
UPDATE: This music video is on on Vevo for anyone to view.
Controversy, Controversy, Controversy.... But, the thing I really enjoy about events like this are the theories and breakdowns of what's being represented here. First, are all the people in bed actually people? Or, as some think, are they wax figures? And, if they are meant to be wax figures, what does that mean?
And, yes, Caitlyn Jenner is in there half naked.
However, that's not the most thought provoking part. It's the book ends that are George W. Bush on the left and Bill Cosby on the right. This will have me wondering all weekend.
Share your thoughts with me. Connect with me online. - Vinny $o Fresh
